All of the above were once familiar names.  Without the foresight of a few dedicated enthusiasts who started the preservation movement in the 1950's, few if any of these engines would exist today.  All of us with an interest in machines which make interesting noises and smells, owe them our gratitude for their endeavours in preserving Great Britain's engineering heritage.

Hopefully over the next few years it will be possible to photograph many more Steam Rollers, and expand this web site so that all British makers are included, and that sufficient information will become available to dedicate a section to each makers products.
